Ancient Architecture in South Korea
Simplicity and naturalness are the main characteristics of traditional Korean architecture. Eaves of these architectures are usually decorated with carved logs to express people's respect to nature, to show the clear, quiet, peaceful atmosphere of the building, as well as the modest and introverted environmental intention. However, such building components are not only heavy and with poor fire and insect resistance, but also require regular maintenance. Now we use GFRC products to replace logs, reducing the weight and cost, facilitating the construction process and increasing the life of the building. We use GFRC material to product rafters, modillions with slightly upswept eaves of strong dynamic, traditional dragon head, columns and decorative propitious clouds between them, pillars of spoondrift balustrade, delicate lotus heads, hollow guardrail panels, etc. They added magnificent traditional Korean architectural styles into modern architectures.
